ABOUT Esin

​

My name is Esin and it means inspiration in Turkish.

​

I was born in Istanbul, where I went to a normal state school and then studied Literature at college. At Art University, I discovered my true vocation as an artist and went on to study at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul; the best and toughly contested Art Academy in Turkey.

​

It took a year of preparation and exams to get into University. During this year, two of the finest professors from Istanbul Art Uni assisted me in developing my drawing techniques; Prof Bahattin Odabasi and Doc Recep Turunk. Out of thousands of applicants I qualified in 7th place and went to Mimar Sinan University.

During my time at University I studied many topics and artistic skills, including life drawings, painting techniques, ceramic and sculpturing (with or without glaze). Also, industrial design, fine art, history of art and anatomy lessons.

​

At the same time as studying I was also working. I had two jobs, firstly part-time at a Ceramics Company which introduced me to working with the Apple Macintosh Computer for the first time. It was here that I also became involved in the digital design industry.

​

While at this company I travelled to Italy on business very often and it was during this time I realised how important learning a language is. This inspired me to see more of the world and to learn more languages. My second job was working with a printing company.

​

This was between 1995-2000 and since then I have been working in similar industries associated with publishing, designing and production of advertisings for the mass market.

​

I came to the UK in May 2000 to learn English and further my Art education. I went to Canterbury University in Kent and started my Masters in Fine Art. Here I studied design computer programmes, video editing, photography, created art exhibitions, expanded my artistic skills and portfolio.

​

Since my Masters Degree I have been working full-time and free-lance in the UK at numerous graphic design companies. I am now at a stage in my career where I would like to move up a level and embrace the world of Web design.

​

I still love travelling, but England has now become my home.
